Landscape Drive Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Landscape Drive Reserve in Doncaster East pairs a fenced sports oval with open grassland that runs off-lead, which makes it a two-mode park: a bounded run for the recall-perfect dog when the oval is free, and an everyday neighbourhood stretch for everyone else. It is a local walkers' spot with a bit of community buzz on weekends rather than a quiet backwater.

The dog setup

The off-lead areas are the open designated grass, where effective control means your dog returns on command. The sporting oval itself is fenced, but the surrounding open space is largely unfenced and gives onto residential streets, so recall still does the heavy lifting. Manningham's conditions apply around the edges: on-lead within 15 metres of the play equipment, near the permanent BBQs and during any active sporting event, and off the oval entirely when matches or training are on. Pick up after your dog; bins are provided.

Getting there and parking

Access is from Landscape Drive, with limited off-street parking near the playground. If you are coming by public transport, buses 282, 305 and 318 stop on Andersons Creek Road near Serpells Road, leaving roughly a 500 metre walk down Serpells Road to the reserve.

When to go

The reserve is popular on weekends and weekday evenings, so expect company at those times. The big variable is the sportsground calendar: the fenced oval can be heavily booked on weekends, and when it is in use it reverts to on-lead sport territory. The open area is largely unshaded and heats up through summer afternoons, so carry water and aim for mornings in the warmer months. Facilities cover the basics well, with a pavilion, shelter, permanent BBQ, playground, public toilets and bins.
