Anderson Park on Reynolds Road in Doncaster East does the dog-versus-sport balancing act that lots of suburban reserves manage, but with a twist: the off-leash zone is the fenced sports ground itself. When the oval isn't occupied by organised sport, it's a large, enclosed turf run for dogs; the surrounding park, paths and car park stay on-lead, protecting the high-priority conservation bushland that wraps the reserve.

Weekdays are the calmer bet, while weekend mornings and late weekday afternoons bring community sport, crowds and full parking. Because the oval is the only off-lead space, timing matters more here than at a multi-zone park: check the local fixture schedule or just look before you go. When the ground is free, the fence gives you a contained run that suits dogs still proving their recall.

The reserve sits off Reynolds Road in Doncaster East, with parking off Reynolds Road and along Andersons Creek Road. An off-road shared path runs along Andersons Creek Road and an on-road bike lane along Reynolds Road, so it's a comfortable walk-in with a leashed dog from the surrounding streets.
