The basics. Anderson Park on Reynolds Road in Doncaster East is a recreation reserve where the off-leash zone is the fenced sports ground itself, a large turf area good for running, with high-priority bushland conservation around it.

The rules. Off-lead access is confined to the fenced sports ground, and only when organised events or training are not in progress. Outside that fence, including the car park and surrounding walking paths, dogs must be on-lead, which also protects the adjacent conservation bushland. On-lead within 15 metres of play equipment and permanent BBQs. Keep dogs under effective control and pick up after them.

What's there. The fenced oval, a pavilion, BBQ shelter, public toilets and a nearby playground, plus seating. There is no dedicated dog water tap, so bring your own bottle and bowl.

Getting there. At 10-12 Reynolds Road, with parking off Reynolds Road and along Anderson Creek Road. An off-road shared path runs along Anderson Creek Road and an on-road bike path along Reynolds Road for the walk in.

When to go. Weekdays are generally quieter; weekend mornings and late weekday afternoons get busy, and parking can fill when community sport is on. Time your visit around the sport schedule, since the oval is the only off-lead space. Good for a contained run when the ground is free.
