Craigieburn Fenced Dog Park sits behind the Craigieburn Sports Stadium on Craigieburn Road, a fully fenced off-leash space with separate zones for big and small dogs and a rock-scramble sensory area for dogs that like a bit of a scramble.

The rules. Hume City Council caps it at two dogs per person, and every dog needs to be fully vaccinated and at least six months old. Aggressive dogs aren't permitted, and your dog needs to be reliably obedient off-leash even inside the fence. Children under five aren't allowed in, and kids under 14 can't be the ones supervising a dog. Leave the choker and spike collars at home.

What's there. A sheltered seating area, drinking fountains for dogs, and bin stations for waste bags. There's a dedicated car park on the north side, though it can turn muddy near the entrance after rain.

Getting there. Access is off Craigieburn Road, with on-site parking that's limited, so aim for a quieter window if you can. The park is near bus routes serving Craigieburn Central.

Nearby with the dogs. Waterside Cafe on North Shore Drive has outdoor seating and puts out water bowls, a reasonable stop before or after the park. Craigieburn Central's surrounding cafe strip has a few more options if you're happy to walk a little further.

When to go. Sunday mornings and evenings, and weekday evenings Tuesday to Saturday, are the busiest. Wednesday evenings and Friday mornings tend to be quieter. There have been occasional reports of tension between dogs during the crowded periods, so if yours is reactive, a quieter slot is the safer bet.
