Forget Me Not Eatery

Forget Me Not Eatery is set inside the Direct Plants nursery on Mickleham Road in Greenvale, about half an hour north of Melbourne. It is a garden-wrapped brunch cafe that invites dogs into its outdoor courtyard, and the nursery setting gives you plant shopping and breakfast in the one trip.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor alfresco and courtyard tables, which run undercover and heated, so cold Melbourne mornings are not a problem. The indoor dining room and the enclosed children's retreat stay humans-only. The cafe's own socials actively invite diners to bring the dog along, and water bowls are usually out in the courtyard. No booking or fee is involved - bring a collapsible bowl as backup on busy days.

Worth knowing

The kitchen runs all day from 8:30am, with breakfast through to lunch - bao buns, wood-fired pizza and french toast are among the drawcards - and wood-fired pizzas run on Wednesday to Friday dinner service. It is a strong family pick too, with a kids' retreat stocked with toys and books, so a well-socialised dog that is relaxed around children will fit right in.

The cafe sits at 595 Mickleham Road, Greenvale. Parking is free and on-site at the nursery, which makes arrivals simple even with a dog in tow. Weekend mornings draw the family crowd, so weekdays are the calm window if you want an easy table.
