Carine Fenced Dog Park

Carine Fenced Dog Park is a fully enclosed, double-gated off-leash area inside Carine Regional Open Space on Beach Road, run by the City of Stirling. It is one of the few genuinely secure fenced parks in Perth's northern suburbs, which makes it a solid pick for dogs that cannot be trusted loose in open space.

The dog setup

Inside the enclosure dogs run off-leash but must stay under voice control and in sight. A maximum of three dogs per person applies, dogs must be over four months old, and aggressive dogs and females in heat are not permitted. Owners must stay inside the fence, pick up waste immediately, and leave spiked or prong collars off. Outside the fence, including the car park, dogs go back on lead.

Max: check for other dogs before you commit to the gate. This one gets busy, and the double-gate airlock only works if everyone closes the inner gate before opening the outer one.

The vibe

The enclosure has grassy ground, shaded patches, water fountains, seating for owners and bin facilities. The wider open space adds public toilets, barbecues and sports facilities, plus unfenced walking trails around Big Carine Swamp for dogs that are solid on recall.

Getting there and when to go

The park sits at the corner of Beach Road and Okely Road, with plenty of street parking nearby that tightens up at peak times. Local bus routes run along Beach Road. Weekends and weekday early evenings between roughly 5pm and 6.30pm are the busiest stretches; weekday mid-mornings and weekend middays are quieter. Check for any works affecting access in the reserve before you head out.

Close by with the dogs

For a coffee after the run, Regular Coffee Company and Toasted Carine are a short drive away in the Carine shops with outdoor seating. If you want a second fenced option nearby, Charles Riley Memorial Reserve Fenced Dog Park at North Beach is not far up the coast.
