Whites Hill Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Whites Hill Reserve Fenced Dog Park sits at 258 Boundary Road, Camp Hill, a roughly two hectare fenced run at the foot of Brisbane City Council's much larger Whites Hill bushland reserve. It is open around the clock, and the shade alone makes it one of the more workable southside parks through a Brisbane summer.

The dog setup

Two double-gated enclosures split the space, one for big dogs and one for small or timid ones, with council-standard fencing and an airlock entry on each side. Inside there are water stations, seating, agility equipment and mature shade trees, including some sizeable mango trees that hold the cool on a hot afternoon. Bags and bins are provided, but stay with your dog and carry a lead with you.

The rules

Off lead applies strictly inside the fence. Everywhere else in Whites Hill Reserve, including the bushwalking tracks, dogs are on lead at all times under Brisbane City Council rules, which protects wildlife in the reserve, including koalas that move through the area. Close the gates behind you, leash up before leaving the enclosure, and take an aggressive or clearly stressed dog out rather than waiting for it to settle.

Getting there

Enter off Boundary Road and follow the internal ring road toward the playing fields, where parking sits within a short walk of the dog park. Several bus routes run along Boundary Road, so check Translink for the closest stop if you are coming by public transport.

Cafe & Bar on Whites Hill sits inside the reserve itself, and it is a proper dog-friendly stop with water and treats for pups, which makes the post-run coffee effortless. The Sankeys Lookout track climbs through the same reserve for an on-lead extension, and the Camp Hill Dog Park is a second fenced option in the suburb if this one is crowded.
