What visitors mention
Shaftesbury Street is Tarragindi's dedicated off-leash park: a fully fenced, roughly half-acre site split into separate sections for big dogs and small dogs, open 24 hours. It's one of the more popular fenced parks on Brisbane's southside, with returfed grass, shade trees and a strong social scene most evenings.
The rules. Dogs must be under effective voice control even though the whole site is fenced, and owners are responsible for keeping their dog in the correct size section. Pick up after your dog immediately; bins are provided throughout. There's no listed curfew, the park is accessible 24/7, but bring a torch or use the lighting if you're visiting after dark.
What's there. Separate fenced areas for big and small dogs, a picnic shelter with seating, water fountains for dogs and people, and poop bag stations. The wider parkland around the fenced areas has public toilets, a playground and basketball courts, and there's a dog wash and treat vending machine right next to the park.
Getting there. The park is at 51 Shaftesbury St, Tarragindi, a few kilometres south of the Brisbane CBD. Free street parking runs along Shaftesbury Street directly outside, and local bus routes serve the surrounding streets.
Nearby with the dogs. Black Lab Coffee is a short walk away in Tarragindi and is known for welcoming dogs with treats. Todd & Pup in nearby Moorooka has a dedicated dog menu, and BNE Baracca on Cracknell Rd is another easy stop for a coffee after park time.

When to go. Weekend mornings and Friday afternoons draw the biggest crowds, especially Sunday morning. For a calmer visit, aim for mid-week mornings or later weekday evenings when the fenced areas are quieter and there's more room to let a nervous or older dog settle in.
