Cafe & Bar on Whites Hill sits inside Whites Hill Reserve at 258 Boundary Road, Camp Hill, right beside the sporting fields and playground. With roomy open-air seating and the reserve's fenced dog park a few steps away, it is the obvious coffee stop either side of a run at the park.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, which is surrounded by trees and roomy enough for a dog to settle under the table. Water bowls are usually put out and staff will do a puppuccino, though it is worth confirming on the day. Some visitors report being allowed indoors with dogs in quieter periods, so ask if the weather pushes you that way.

The kitchen runs breakfast, brunch and lunch with a fresh-leaning menu, and the coffee is well regarded. Matcha fans get their own corner of the menu, and the waffles and rosti earn repeat orders. Trading is limited midweek, with the cafe open Wednesday to Friday mornings and longer weekend hours, so check times before a weekday detour. Sundays are the busiest, best-buzzing session.

Getting there and parking

There is free parking in the paved lot serving the touch football clubhouse and cafe, which is a luxury compared with most of Brisbane's park cafes. The site is wheelchair accessible, and the path from the car park to the outdoor tables is flat and easy with a dog.

Make a day of it

You are already at the reserve, so pair the visit with the Whites Hill Reserve Fenced Dog Park for off-lead time or the on-lead bushland tracks that climb the hill. The Sankeys Lookout walk is nearby for a view to finish. Over at Carindale, the Moore Lookout trail adds another option to the circuit.
