Wembley Park Fenced Dog Park

Wembley Park Fenced Dog Park occupies the eastern side of Wembley Park in Coorparoo, a fully fenced grassed enclosure backing onto Bridgewater Creek. It is one of the better-equipped off-leash spots on Brisbane's south side, with agility gear, water on tap and a big Jacaranda throwing shade over the benches.

The dog setup

The off-leash zone runs only inside the fenced boundary, entered from the Eastern Road car park. Inside, your dog is off lead under voice control; everywhere else in Wembley Park the leash goes back on. A ramp and a few agility sections give dogs something beyond a flat run, and water taps with bowls sit on site. Brisbane City Council's standard dog park rules apply: stay in the enclosure with your dog, keep them within sight, step in early if play turns rough, and use the bins provided. The park is wheelchair accessible and pram friendly, so it copes fine with kids in tow.

Pepsi: a full car park usually means a full dog park. Netball nights fill the shared car park fast, and the enclosure follows.

Worth knowing

The Eastern Road car park is shared with the netball courts next door, and Wembley Park is a genuine sporting hub with twilight competitions running through the week. On game nights both the car park and the dog park fill up; residential streets nearby take the overflow. The Jacaranda shade builds through the middle of the day, so sunny mornings and late afternoons are the comfortable windows in summer.

Getting there and parking

Aim for the Eastern Road car park near the fenced entry, a short hop from Old Cleveland Road. Several bus stops service the surrounding roads if you would rather come in without the car.

The Whites Hill Reserve fenced dog park over at Camp Hill is a bigger bushland option a few minutes south, and the Ekibin Park East enclosure covers the Greenslopes side. For a coffee stop, the Cafe & Bar on Whites Hill pairs well with a Whites Hill session.
