What visitors mention
Sankeys Lookout is a short bushland walk to a summit view of the Brisbane CBD skyline, set within the 170-hectare Whites Hill Reserve between Camp Hill and Carindale. Dogs are welcome, but this is on-leash the whole way to protect the reserve's koalas and wallabies.
The walk. The track climbs through remnant eucalypt forest and dry rainforest to the lookout. It is rated easy to moderate with a few short, steep sections, so it suits an active dog rather than one that struggles with hills. Expect panoramic city views at the top and a real chance of spotting koalas along the way.
Leash status. Dogs must be on-leash at all times across Whites Hill Reserve's tracks. Keep to the marked trails, do not let your dog harass wildlife, and carry out or bin all waste.
Water. There are water points near the sports fields, but they are not on the track itself, so bring your own water for you and the dog, especially in warmer months.
Getting there. Park at the Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association car park on Boundary Road, 258 Boundary Road, Camp Hill; the popular access point is the gravel path leading up from there. Buses run along Old Cleveland Road with a short walk to the reserve. Toilets, picnic tables and a playground are near the car park.

When to go. Weekdays are quiet and secluded. Weekend mornings and late afternoons bring hikers, trail runners and families, so pick a weekday morning if your dog is reactive.
