What visitors mention
The lead. Decker Park is a fully fenced off-leash dog park on the Brighton foreshore, at 18 Twenty Fifth Ave, with separate enclosures for big and small dogs so play stays safe. The draw is the double-gated, fully enclosed setup right beside the bay, which makes it a reliable spot for a dog who cannot be trusted off-lead in the open.
The rules. Keep your dog on-lead until you are inside the enclosure, and use the airlock properly: close the inner and outer gates behind you every time. Pick the enclosure that matches your dog's size, stay in with them, and keep them in voice and sight range. Bring your own bags and a water bowl, as the on-site dispensers and taps are not always stocked or working.
What's there. The enclosure has grassed ground, shade sails and trees, plus a few agility pieces like tunnels, ramps and weave poles. Benches sit inside and outside the fence. The wider Decker Park around it has public toilets, electric barbecues, a large playground and a basketball court, so it works for a family outing as well as a dog run.
Getting there. Free off-street and on-street parking runs along Twenty Fifth Avenue and rarely fills. On public transport, take the train to Sandgate station and connect to a local bus into Brighton. On foot, the park links straight into the Brighton foreshore paths, which are on-lead but scenic.
Nearby with the dogs. Lili's Cafe on Queens Parade does outdoor seating and dog treats a short walk on. Baaia on Flinders Parade in Sandgate is a well-known waterfront stop with pup cups if you want to extend the outing.

When to go. It is busiest on weekend mornings and on weekday afternoons after work. If your dog is uneasy in a crowd, aim for mid-morning or early afternoon on a weekday. The foreshore alongside is best walked at low tide, so check the tide before you plan a beach stretch.
