Bray Park dog park Reserve

Bray Park Reserve Dog Park is a fully fenced, off-leash dog park on the corner of Tree Street and Kyogle Road in Bray Park, just a few minutes' drive from Murwillumbah in the Tweed Shire. It is a straightforward, no-frills fenced run rather than a scenic destination, which makes it a solid pick for a safe off-leash burn without the drive into town.

The rules. Dogs can run off-leash inside the fenced area, but must be back on lead in the car park and the surrounding reserve. Owners are expected to stay inside the park and keep dogs under direct supervision the whole time, not just let them off and sit in the car. Pick up after your dog using the bins provided, and check the safety gate has latched behind you before you let anyone off lead. Any dog showing aggression needs to be removed straight away.

What's there. The park has secure perimeter fencing, a drinking fountain with a dog bowl built in, picnic tables and benches, and free poo bags with disposal bins. There is some natural shade plus younger trees planted in recent years, so shade cover is still filling in rather than mature.

Getting there. It's a short drive off Kyogle Road, which links Murwillumbah to the surrounding rural area, with a dedicated car park at the reserve itself. Murwillumbah's town centre is only a few minutes east if you want to make a stop either side of the visit.

When to go. Weekday mornings before 9am and the mid-afternoon lull around 11am to 2pm are quietest, useful if your dog is nervous around others. Weekends and the 4pm to 6pm after-work window get busiest. It's inland, so there's no tide to plan around, just be aware the ground can turn muddy for a day or two after heavy rain. Confirm current opening hours and any seasonal closures with Tweed Shire Council before a special trip.
