Bray Park dog park Reserve

Bray Park Reserve Dog Park is a fully fenced, off-leash dog park on the corner of Tree Street and Kyogle Road in Bray Park, a few minutes' drive from Murwillumbah in the Tweed Shire. It is a straightforward, no-frills fenced run rather than a scenic destination, which is exactly what you want for a safe off-lead burn without driving into town.

The rules

Tweed Shire Council runs the park as a district-level fenced facility. Dogs run off-leash inside the enclosure only; they must be back on lead in the car park and the surrounding reserve. Owners stay inside with their dogs and keep them under effective voice or hand control the whole time, dogs go back on lead before entering and right after leaving, and declared dangerous or restricted dogs are barred from off-leash areas. Pick up after your dog using the bins provided, and check the safety gate has latched behind you before anyone unclips.

What's there

Inside the fence you get secure perimeter fencing, internal pathways, a drinking fountain with a built-in dog bowl, picnic tables and benches, and free poo bags at the bins. Shade comes from some established trees plus younger plantings that are still filling in, so plan for sun on clear afternoons.

The vibe

Weekday mornings before 9am and the midday lull around 11am to 2pm are quietest, useful if your dog is nervous around others. Weekends and the 4pm to 6pm after-work window get busiest. The ground can turn muddy for a day or two after rain, so bring a towel in winter.

Getting there

The park is a short drive off Kyogle Road, which links Murwillumbah to the surrounding rural area, with a dedicated car park at the reserve. Murwillumbah's town centre is a few minutes east, so coffee and supply stops sit either side of the visit.
