Croom Dog Agility Park

Croom Dog Agility Park is Shellharbour City Council's purpose-built dog playground inside the Croom Regional Sporting Complex on Croome Road, Albion Park Rail, opened in late October 2025. This is a council-built fenced off-leash park with real infrastructure: double gate entry, a dedicated agility circuit, a water station, shade trees and a picnic shelter, all on one site. For Illawarra dog owners it fills the gap between the basic fenced yard and nothing at all.

The agility setup

The equipment list is what separates it from a plain paddock: a jump-through, weave posts, a tunnel, a platform and a bridge, laid out so a dog can run a full sequence without crowding other users. The double gate means no bolting through an open door, the water station removes the bring-your-own-bucket problem, and the shade trees and picnic shelter make a summer visit survivable. It is built for structured play, so bring treats and work the circuit rather than just standing at the gate. Being inside a regional sporting complex means weekend mornings bring ground traffic, so check the field schedule if you want the quieter entry.

Croome Road parking sits within the sporting complex, following the signs past the playing fields to the dog park side. Access is straightforward off the Albion Park Rail interchange, and the surrounding complex paths give an on-lead warm-up option before the off-lead gate, which is worth doing with any dog meeting a new pack.
