Hive Coffee Co. is a small, newer coffee spot in the Burdekin Village shops on Burdekin Drive, Albion Park, built around barista-made coffee and toasted paninis. It is pet-friendly, with outdoor seating that makes it an easy stop with the dog on the lead.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor tables in front of the shops. It is a recent opening and the finer points of the pet setup are still settling, so bring your own water bowl and check with staff on the day if you want to sit anywhere other than outside.

When to go

Doors open from 6am through the week, which suits the before-work walk crowd, and the day wraps up by 2pm, with weekends from around 6am to 2pm. Weekend hours can shift, so check their Facebook page before a Sunday run. The Burdekin Village complex has its own car park, so parking is straightforward. Treat it as a quick coffee-and-stroll stop rather than a long linger.
