Puppy Play Days and Stays

Puppy Play Days and Stays is not a public park at all. It is a small, home-style doggy daycare and overnight boarding service based in Albion Park, drawing dogs from across the Shellharbour, Wollongong and Kiama areas. The pitch is the opposite of a commercial kennel block: a handful of dogs at a time, close supervision and a home setting rather than rows of runs.

How it works

Day care covers supervised play and socialisation through the day, so a dog that spends weekdays alone gets company and activity instead. Overnight stays cover longer trips away, with your dog staying in the operator's home environment rather than a boarding facility. First contact goes through the business's Facebook page, and the street address is kept private and shared at booking, which is normal practice for home-based operators.

Max: small-group care suits steady, social dogs. If yours is unsure around new dogs, ask about a trial day before committing to an overnight stay.

Pricing, group sizes and entry requirements are not published online, so confirm everything directly before you commit. Expect the checks any small daycare makes before a dog joins the group: current vaccinations, up-to-date parasite treatment and a meet and greet to see how your dog fits the existing pack. Ask how many dogs attend on a typical day, what happens in wet weather, and what a trial day looks like if your dog is new to daycare.

Worth knowing

Small operators fill fast around school holidays, long weekends and the December stretch, so lock in overnight stays well ahead rather than the week before you travel. Because the service is home-based and small by design, it will not suit every dog: dogs that prefer their own space over constant company may do better with a sitter who walks them solo.
