Fairhaven Place Dog Park

Fairhaven Place Dog Park is a small neighbourhood off-leash spot in a residential pocket of Albany Creek, reached off Fairhaven Place from the streets north of Albany Creek Road. It is the quick, local option rather than a destination park: an open grassed area where nearby owners let their dogs stretch out without a drive across the suburb.

Off-leash status

The space is a designated off-leash area under City of Moreton Bay rules, with dogs required to stay under effective control and within sight the whole time. It is unfenced, an open reserve rather than an enclosure with gates, so it is a park for dogs with reliable recall; carry a leash at all times and clip it back on when leaving the zone. The usual council standards apply: no aggressive behaviour, clean up waste and follow any on-site signage, since leash zones around residential parks do get adjusted.

What's there

Expect an open grassed run, some treed shade and bench seating, and not much else. There is no water tap, so bring your own water and bowl. Lighting is limited, making it a daylight-hours park despite the 24-hour designation, and locals report the low-lying grass can hold water after heavy rain, so check the surface before committing after a wet spell. Because it backs onto homes, keep the dog from wandering to the boundaries even when recall is solid.

Getting there and parking

The park sits off Fairhaven Place, reached through quiet residential streets off Albany Creek Road. Street parking on Fairhaven Place itself is limited and shared with residents, so park considerately and walk in. From Albany Creek's main strip it is only a few minutes, and the park's whole appeal is that you can be there without planning a trip.

When to go

Weekday mornings and evenings are quiet, when the handful of regulars do their laps. Saturday mornings are the social peak, which is a plus for a dog that likes company and a reason to dodge it if yours does not. If the park is crowded or waterlogged, the bigger fenced options are close by.
