Bleakley Park Fenced Dog Park

Bleakley Park runs along Sandy Creek at 34 Old Northern Road in Albany Creek on Brisbane's northside, and its fenced dog off-leash area is the centrepiece for local dog owners. The wider park adds playground equipment, an outdoor gym and picnic shelters, so it handles the whole household in one stop.

The dog setup

The dog area is fully fenced with agility equipment and open running space for fetch, open around the clock. Standard Moreton Bay off-leash rules apply: stay inside with your dog, keep it responsive to voice commands, carry a lead to re-clip when needed, bin the droppings, and remove any dog that turns aggressive. Bitches in season and declared dangerous or restricted dogs are not permitted in off-leash areas.

Pepsi: the agility gear here doubles as the warm-up. A few obstacle laps burns the first burst of energy and settles the group dynamics fast.

The vibe

The park is tree-lined and follows the creek, with an undercover seating area that reviewers call out, plus shelters, tables and a water fountain covering both ends of the leash. The enclosure is compact rather than sprawling, which keeps play visible, and the community tends to leave shared balls behind. Weekends bring the regular crowd, so weekday mornings are the quiet window.

The park sits on Old Northern Road in Albany Creek, about 20 minutes from the Brisbane CBD via Gympie Arterial Road, with parking at the site. Buses along Albany Creek Road stop within walking distance.

More off-leash nearby

If the enclosure is crowded, Albany Creek Dog Park on Leitchs Road South splits large and small dogs into separate fenced zones, and Sargent Reserve in Eatons Hill is a short drive north. Fairhaven Place Dog Park covers the local streets, and Molten Toffee is the coffee stop back through town.
