What visitors mention
This is the all-dogs enclosure of Pityarilla Dog Park, the fully fenced off-leash park inside the Pelzer Park / Pityarilla Activity Hub on South Terrace in the southern Park Lands. It is the larger gated section open to dogs of any size, the main run for a city dog that needs room to stretch out.
The rules. Dogs must be registered, vaccinated and wearing a visible registration disc, and under effective control inside the fence. Puppies under four months are not permitted. Dogs can be off-leash once inside the fenced enclosure; keep them leashed until both gates are shut behind you. There is a separate, smaller enclosure alongside reserved for dogs 14 kg and under if you have a little one who needs space away from bigger dogs.
What's there. The enclosure is fully fenced with double-entry safety gates, with night lighting until about 10pm, water features and fountains for cooling off, sheltered seating for owners, and bins with courtesy bag dispensers. The surrounding activity hub adds turfed areas, logs and rocks for natural play.
Getting there. It is in the South Park Lands off South Terrace, near the Hutt Street corner. Street parking runs along South Terrace and nearby streets, and the South Terrace tram stops close by.
Nearby with the dogs. Hutt Street's cafe strip is a short walk north, with plenty of dog-friendly footpath seating for a coffee after a run.

The lighting makes this one of the few CBD-edge parks genuinely usable after dark, and mornings are calmest. A well-equipped, central off-leash run for dogs of all sizes.
