Little Attention Seeker

Little Attention Seeker is a small, boutique coffee house in Charles Street Plaza just off Rundle Mall, trading weekday mornings in the middle of Adelaide's shopping precinct. It is a compact hole-in-the-wall pour rather than a sit-down brunch room, which shapes how a dog visit works.

The dog setup

There is barely any room inside, so dogs join you at the plaza seating outside, leashed and tucked close to your chair while the foot traffic rolls past. The cafe keeps city retail hours, Monday to Friday from 7am to 2:30pm, and closes on weekends.

Bring your own water bowl, as the plaza is busy and dog bowls are not always out. If the outside tables are taken, staff are generally happy for a short wait at the entrance while you grab a coffee to go.

Worth knowing

The draw is barista coffee, protein shakes and quick bites like signature breakfast melts and pastries, with local artwork on the walls. It suits a grab-and-go stop mid-shop rather than a long stay, and the plaza is at its busiest through the middle of the day.

The cafe sits in Charles Street Plaza, a short walk from Rundle Mall, Grenfell Street and Gawler Place. UPark Gawler Place and UPark Rundle Mall are the closest off-street car parks, and the King William Street tram stop and Grenfell Street buses are both nearby.

Close by with the dogs

For a proper sit-down meal with your dog, Peter Rabbit Cafe has a leafy garden deck a short walk west, and Halifax Cafe is another central option. Elder Park and the River Torrens lie just north-west for an on-lead stroll away from the crowds.
