Marnham Street Park in Acacia Ridge has a fully fenced off-leash dog park set within a larger 3.15-hectare green space, a relaxed local spot for regular visits rather than a destination park.

The rules. Dogs must stay on-leash until you're through the gate into the fenced area. The fencing is double-gated for safer entry and exit. Pick up waste immediately, bins and bags are usually provided. Keep your dog under voice control throughout, and leash and remove any dog showing aggression right away.

What's there. A dog-friendly water bubbler, benches for owners, and trees for natural shade. It's a straightforward fenced run rather than a park with extras, so don't expect a dog wash or agility gear.

Getting there. The park is on Marnham Street, just off Beaudesert Road (A4). Free street parking is generally available along Marnham Street, and several bus routes run along Beaudesert Road with stops within walking distance.

Nearby with the dogs. Cafes with outdoor seating are mostly along Beaudesert Road and over in Sunnybank rather than right at the park, worth combining with a Sunnybank cafe stop.

Weekend mornings and weekdays after 4pm draw the biggest crowds; weekday mornings and early afternoons are quieter. The partial shade keeps it comfortable in hot weather, but expect mud after heavy rain.
