Marnham Street Park Fenced Dog Park

Marnham Street Park in Acacia Ridge has a fully fenced off-leash dog park set within a larger 3.15-hectare green space near the corner of Marnham and Mitchell Streets. It is a relaxed local spot for regular visits rather than a destination park, which is exactly what most nearby owners need.

The dog setup

Dogs stay on-leash until you are through the double-gated entry into the fenced area; close the outer gate before opening the inner one so nothing darts out. Keep your dog under voice control throughout, stay inside the fence with them, and leash and remove any dog showing aggression straight away. Waste bins and bags are usually provided, and Brisbane City Council registration requirements apply.

Worth knowing

The enclosure has a dog-friendly water bubbler, benches for owners and trees for natural shade. It is a straightforward fenced run rather than a park with extras, so do not expect a dog wash or agility gear. The partial shade keeps it comfortable in hot weather, but expect mud after heavy rain. Weekend mornings and weekdays after 4pm draw the biggest crowds; weekday mornings and early afternoons are quieter.

Pepsi: no agility gear here, just a secure run and shade. Bring a ball and it does the job.

Getting there and parking

The park is on Marnham Street, just off Beaudesert Road, with free street parking generally available along Marnham Street. Several bus routes run along Beaudesert Road with stops within walking distance.

Close by with the dogs

Mortimer Rd Dog Park is the suburb's other fenced option, and Algester Off Leash Dog Park and Yimbun Park Fenced Dog Park are short drives away. For coffee, Milli & Mol's Espresso at Algester is the closest dog-friendly stop.
