Incognito Cafe

Incognito Cafe is a small, art-covered neighbourhood cafe at Shop 1/272 Anzac Highway in Plympton, and one of the most genuinely dog-focused brunch stops in Adelaide's inner south. It even made Glam Adelaide's roundup of the city's pup-approved cafes with dedicated dog menus, and the outdoor setup is built around people who arrive with a dog in tow.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and kerbside seats out front, roughly a dozen tables along the footpath. A serving window means you can order without abandoning your dog at the table, and the cafe keeps fresh water down, hands out biscuits, does pup-a-ccinos and stocks waste bag dispensers. Keep your dog leashed in the dining area. Access from the footpath is flat and easy, which helps with older dogs.

The vibe

The menu runs to all-day brunch with vegetarian and gluten-free options, and the kitchen has a few signatures locals chase: the reuben sandwich, chilli crab scrambled eggs, egg drop toasties and the haloumi burger. Coffee comes from the house Cognition blend with cold brew alongside, and the banana bread keeps appearing in reviews. Hours are 7am to 2pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 2pm Saturday, closed Sundays, so plan the dog brunch for the morning.

Getting there and parking

Free street parking runs along Anzac Highway and the side streets, with some on-site spots too. It is a quick trip from the city down Anzac Highway, and Glenelg is only a few minutes further west.

Make a day of it

Tweety Bird Cafe is a short stroll along Anzac Highway if you want a second dog-friendly brunch option in the same strip. For a proper run first, Glenelg North Dog-Friendly Beach and West Beach Dog Beach are both a short drive away, with off-lead sand outside the daylight savings restrictions.
