Tuckshop Drive Thru Coffee

Tuckshop Drive Thru Coffee is a grab-and-go coffee stop at 260-262 Ferntree Gully Road, Notting Hill, built for commuters on one of Melbourne's busier arterials. It brews Axil air-roasted coffee and turns out fresh bagels, croissants and muffins from 5am on weekdays. There is essentially no seating; you take your coffee and go, which makes the dog question a practical one rather than a patio one.

The dog setup

Your dog stays with you: either in the car through the drive-thru lane or on a short lead at the walk-up window. No dog menu or water bowls are documented, and staff friendliness towards dogs is reported rather than confirmed, so treat both as unconfirmed. If your dog reacts to traffic, use the drive-thru lane rather than walking up; Ferntree Gully Road is busy, and a short wait inside the car is safer than standing near moving vehicles with a leash in hand.

On the menu

The draw is fast, good coffee rather than a kitchen menu. Bagels are the food people name, including a chorizo bagel and a cream-cheese bagel, with croissants, muffins and pastries filling out the cabinet. There is also a small convenience-style section of daily basics if you are picking up more than coffee.

Getting there and hours

The site sits directly on Ferntree Gully Road, next to the bottle shop at The Notting Hill Hotel, with a dedicated free drive-thru lane you pull into from the main traffic flow. It opens 5am to 11am, Monday to Friday, and is closed on weekends, so plan it as a weekday commute stop.

While you are out there

For a proper run afterwards, Fregon Reserve Dog Off Leash Area in Clayton and Whitehaven Crescent Reserve Dog Off Leash Area in Mulgrave are both short drives away. Monash requires dogs under effective control with a leash carried, and keeps dogs 20 metres from playgrounds.
