Nuno's Southern Hospitality

Nuno's Southern Hospitality is a small, community-minded coffee and comfort-food outfit in Mornington, with a Texan bent to the menu and a warm streak with dogs. Note that it runs as a food-truck style operation rather than a fixed cafe, and it currently sets up at Civic Reserve near the Peninsula Regional Gallery on Dunns Road. The dog setup

Dogs on lead are welcome in the outdoor dining space, with room to settle beside the table. Because it is an open-air, truck-style setup, bringing a dog is easy; bring your own water bowl and keep your dog clear of the queue. Opening hours run Thursday to Sunday, 7:30am to 3pm, with Monday to Wednesday closed.

Worth knowing

The draw is quality local coffee, often Commonfolk-roasted, and rustic comfort food served quickly: loaded toasties, baked goods and cookies. The corn toastie has a local following of its own. Everything is casual and fast, which makes it a natural coffee stop mid-walk rather than a long sit-down brunch.

At Civic Reserve the truck sits near the gallery on Dunns Road, with public parking around the reserve. Mornington's foreshore and Main Street are a short drive or a decent walk away, so it slots neatly into a morning circuit.
