A quiet, fully fenced grassy off-leash enclosure backed by wetland, open 24/7 and tucked into a residential pocket. The low-distraction, secure setup makes it a good pick for small, senior or nervous dogs over the busier town parks.

The rules. Off-leash inside the fenced pen, on lead in the surrounding reserve and wetlands. Keep your dog under control, and clean up (waste bags and bins are provided). The fence is the main draw, a secure pen in an area where the surrounding bush can hold snakes.

What's there. A dedicated fenced grass play area with tidy turf, waste bins, and peaceful wetland views for owners while dogs play. It is a simple, well-kept enclosure rather than a facility-heavy park.

Getting there. 19 Lakeview Grove, in a residential part of Mornington, a short drive from the township. Free street parking runs along Lakeview Grove; it is best reached by car.

Nearby with the dogs. Main Street's dog-friendly cafes are a few minutes' drive, including Gods Kitchen with its courtyard and The Winey Cow with its dog menu. Civic Reserve is a larger fenced run nearby.

The fence is the point here. The surrounding wetland and bush can hold snakes in the warmer months, so keep your dog inside the pen and on lead in the reserve.

When to go. Weekday mornings are quietest and most private given the small size. It picks up on Saturday afternoons and weekday late afternoons; Sunday evening tends to be the calmest.
