Dreamer Cafe

A coastal-feel cafe on Dava Drive, 200 metres from Fossil Beach, that is one of the few Mornington cafes to welcome dogs inside as well as out, with Commonfolk-roasted coffee and a walk-in-only setup.

The dog setup. Dogs are genuinely welcome here, both in the outdoor footpath and courtyard seating and inside the cafe itself, with water bowls provided. There are no bookings, so it is walk-ins only; arrive early on weekends if you want a settled spot with your dog.

Known for. Specialty coffee roasted by Commonfolk, a strong line of toasted sandwiches (the Chicken and Avocado, the Reuben, the Tuna Melt), and brunch classics like Turkish eggs and acai bowls, with good vegetarian and vegan choices.

Getting there and parking. Shop 2 / 25 Dava Drive. There is free street parking and a free car park on or around Dava Drive, so parking with a dog is easy.

Nearby with the dogs. Fossil Beach off-leash area is just 200 metres away, and Civic Reserve fenced dog park is a short drive. The Esplanade coastal walk between Mornington and Mount Martha is a fine on-leash stroll either side of a coffee.

When to go. Weekday mornings are quietest. Pair it with a Fossil Beach run at low-to-mid tide, when the rocky shore opens up.
