Maison LASSIAILLE - The Art of French Dessert and Chocolate

Maison LASSIAILLE is a French patisserie and chocolate boutique at 317 Harmans Mill Road in Metricup, and it handles dogs better than most fine-food operations in the region. There is a dedicated side entrance for garden guests, so you and your dog skip the indoor counter entirely and go straight to a table under the trees.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the garden seating, entered via the side gate to the left of the main door rather than through the patisserie shop. The indoor display area stays people only. Bring your own water bowl, since supply on the day is not guaranteed, and keep your dog settled at the table while the garden fills.

The vibe

Romain LASSIAILLE trained in Michelin-starred kitchens before opening here, and the pastry case shows it: chocolate mousse, Paris-Brest, panna cotta and quiche for the savoury crowd, with gluten-free options done properly. The high tea is the full production. Hours run Thursday to Sunday, 9:30am to 4pm, with most public holidays covered.

Getting there and parking

Harmans Mill Road runs between Cowaramup and Wilyabrup, off the Caves Road side of the wine region, with free off-street parking on site. Late morning is the quiet window, with first pick of the pastry case before the lunch rush.
