Churchview Estate

Churchview Estate is a family-owned vineyard on Gale Road with genuinely welcoming staff, and leashed dogs can join you for an outdoor tasting on the lawn with those wide vineyard views.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome on lead in the gardens and public outdoor areas. They can't come into the indoor tasting room, but staff will set up a scenic outdoor tasting instead. Water bowls are typically out. If you're eyeing the Hipcamp-listed "Dam View" camping site here for an overnight stay, note it's listed as no pets, confirm directly with Churchview before booking if you want to bring the dog to stay.

Known for. Expansive vineyard views, a friendly and relaxed welcome, and a wine list that includes a well-regarded Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre.

Getting there. It's at 8 Gale Road, Metricup, with on-site parking. The cellar door is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm. There's a strict no-driving-around-the-property rule to protect the vines, so park up and walk in.

Nearby with the dogs. Several other wineries along Metricup Road also welcome leashed dogs outdoors, and Meelup Beach and the Busselton foreshore, around 20 to 30 minutes away, give dogs some off-leash time.

When to go. Weekday mornings are calmest for a lawn tasting with the dog underfoot. Check ahead if you're hoping to combine a tasting with an overnight stay on site.
