Nook Espresso(Currumbin Waters)

Nook Espresso is a small, coffee-first shop on Currumbin Creek Road in Currumbin Waters on the southern Gold Coast. It is a grab-a-coffee-and-go kind of place with footpath seating out the front, built for the morning rush rather than a long brunch, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables.

The dog setup

Dogs settle at the outdoor footpath tables, and the open layout means your dog can sit beside you while you order at the counter, which is compact and stays dog-free under the usual food rules. A water bowl is generally about, but bring your own in the warm months when the footpath gets full sun.

The vibe

The bar pours Bun Coffee, a Byron Bay roaster, and the cabinet leans fresh and grab-and-go: toasties, banana bread, protein balls and wraps rather than a plated menu. Service is quick and the crowd is mostly locals on the move, so it is an easy in-and-out stop with a dog in tow.

Getting there and parking

The shop sits in a small retail complex just off Currumbin Creek Road, with parking in front of the shops that fills through the morning peak, plus street parking close by. Hours run 6am to 1pm Monday to Friday, 6am to midday Saturday, with Sundays typically closed, so check before a weekend trip.

Make a day of it

Note that Currumbin Alley and the creek banks are on-leash under City of Gold Coast rules; the council's designated off-leash exercise zone in this suburb is at Preston Park on Michel Drive along Currumbin Creek. For a legal off-leash swim, the Palm Beach Dog Off-Leash Beach is a short drive north. For another coffee on the same strip, Refinery Coffee and Bancroft Roasters are both nearby.
