What visitors mention
The Hum is a busy wholefoods cafe on Bay Street, directly opposite Main Beach. The outdoor tables face the sand, and dogs are welcome there, which makes it a natural coffee or brunch stop after a beach walk.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, on lead and settled by your table or at your feet. Indoors is off-limits, though the outdoor setup is open and easy. Water bowls are usually on hand. The footpath here is busy and beach-facing, so keep your dog tucked in close.
Good to know. It is known for acai and smoothie bowls, healthy wholefood brunch and good coffee, in a high-energy beachfront position. It is a daytime spot, open from early until mid-afternoon, built for a quick, fresh feed rather than a long sit.
Getting there. The address is 2/14 Bay St, central and opposite the beach. Metered street parking on Bay Street is tight; the library car park and the Marvell Street area are closer fallbacks. Early morning is the best shot at a spot, and walking in is easiest.
Nearby with the dogs. Main Beach is right across the road for an on-lead stroll, the coastal path east is wider and quieter, and Belongil for off-lead running is a short drive or longer walk west.
Come early for a beachfront table and parking, and pair it with an on-lead lap of Main Beach.
