Jimmy's Coffee Byron Bay

Jimmy's Coffee is a relaxed coffee spot on Jonson Street in central Byron Bay, set back from the strip with a lawn-style outdoor area that makes it one of the easier cafe stops in town with a dog. The outdoor seating welcomes dogs, the team often keeps treats on hand, and the food runs to casual brunch favourites: the egg and bacon roll, macadamia honey crumpets and smoothies all get repeat mentions from reviewers. It trades on a local, unhurried feel rather than the busiest corners of Jonson Street.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, partly covered seating on lead, where the lawn setting gives them room to settle beside the table rather than being wedged between chairs on a footpath. Indoors is for people only. Dog treats are part of the deal here and water is easy to come by, which is why it has a name among Byron dog walkers as a proper rest stop.

Worth knowing

Hours run Monday to Friday 7am to 2pm, closed weekends, so this is a weekday coffee rather than a Saturday fixture. Jonson Street parking is busy at peak, with the side streets often easier, but walking in is the simplest option from anywhere in town.
