Loaded Corner Cafe

Loaded Corner is an all-day brunch cafe on East Terrace in the East End, and one of the few CBD cafes that lets dogs come inside as well as out. It opens onto the parklands across the road, which makes it an easy walk-and-coffee combination.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome both at the outdoor tables and inside the cafe, which is unusual for the city and handy in poor weather. The team is genuinely dog-minded and keeps natural air-dried kangaroo treats on hand to keep dogs settled. It is worth mentioning the dog when you book so they can seat you well. Bring your own water bowl as backup.

Good to know. Coffee is from local roaster Monastery, and the all-day menu runs to sandwiches, a beef ribs benedict and a popular chicken roll. The room is bright and busy with a warm, community feel.

Getting there and parking. The cafe is at 40 East Terrace. Parking is mostly paid street parking along East Terrace and nearby streets like Grenfell Street. It sits on the eastern edge of the CBD, walking distance from Hutt Street.

Nearby with the dogs. Rymill Park (Murlawirrapurka) is directly across the road for a pre- or post-brunch walk, and the East End shops and cafes are an easy stroll.

Weekday mornings are calmest; weekends fill quickly. A standout for dog owners thanks to the indoor welcome and the park right across the road.
