Esilio Wines

Esilio Wines is a family-owned boutique cellar door and restaurant at 719 Uley Road, Uleybury, about 40 minutes north of Adelaide, and it wears its pet-friendly status openly: well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome while you taste and eat, with alfresco tables looking out over the vineyard.

The dog setup

Dogs on leads are welcome across the outdoor areas and lawn spaces, particularly the alfresco dining zones with the vineyard outlook. Indoor seating sits with the restaurant side of the operation, so treat a visit with the dog as an outdoor booking and check with staff if weather changes the plan. There is no confirmed water bowl program, so pack your own bowl and water, and bring a mat or blanket if you are settling onto the lawn.

The vibe

Woodfired pizza is the menu highlight, backed by seasonal sharing plates built for a long lunch, and the boutique range includes the Cellar Reserve drawn from The Unscripted Block. Tastings run Friday to Sunday from 11am, with the kitchen from midday, and booking ahead for weekend lunches is the safe move if you want a shaded outdoor table.

Getting there

Drive north from the Adelaide CBD via Main North Road, roughly 40 minutes, with on-site parking at the vineyard. The last stretch is country road, so expect a slower approach than the motorway suggests.

Make a day of it

Gawler is the follow-up stop on the way home: The Javahut or Café Nova for coffee, and the Clonlea Reserve Fenced Dog Park if the dog has been patient enough to earn a proper off-lead run. Overnight, the Gawler Caravan Park takes dogs.
