Fremont Large Dog Park

Fremont Large Dog Park is the big-dog half of the fenced dog park at Fremont Park on Yorktown Road, Elizabeth Park, a spacious grassed run with its own gated entry separate from the small dog enclosure next door.

The rules. Dogs run off-leash only inside the fenced boundary, and owners need to keep voice control and stay with their dog. The gates are double-gated for safety, so use both before letting your dog off lead. Pick up after your dog, bins are on site, and remove a dog straight away if it turns aggressive.

What's there. Mostly open grass with mature shade trees and benches for owners. Water fountains are generally available but can be patchy, so a portable bowl is worth carrying. The park sits next to walking trails, a public toilet block, and a large playground, and the wider Fremont Park grounds also include a duck pond.

Getting there. Address is near the corner of Main North Road and Yorktown Road, Elizabeth Park SA 5113. There is free off-street parking at the Fremont Park playground car park, and it sits close to the main Elizabeth transit routes on Main North Road.

Nearby with the dogs. Elizabeth City Centre is a couple of minutes' drive or an easy walk for takeaway coffee and food, though sit-down dog-friendly outdoor tables are worth confirming on the day.

Weekends, especially Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons, are the busiest. Weekday mornings and evenings are calmer if you want the run to yourselves. Good for bigger, energetic dogs that need space to properly stretch their legs.
