Blakes Crossing Pooch Park Fenced Dog Park

Blakes Crossing Pooch Park is the City of Playford's fenced off-leash park on Jabez Way in Blakeview, at the northern edge of Adelaide's sprawl. It is a single combined yard for dogs of all sizes with a double-gated entry, the kind of place you can duck into for a half-hour run without planning an expedition to a bigger reserve.

The dog setup

Inside the fence there is a dog-friendly water fountain, a couple of benches, basic agility equipment, and waste bags with bins at the entry, which is wheelchair accessible. Council conditions apply and they are worth knowing before you go: supervise your dog at all times, clean up immediately, and no dogs under six months, sick dogs, or females in season. Any dog that turns aggressive or a nuisance gets removed, and there is no food, alcohol, or bicycles inside the enclosure.

The vibe

Honest assessment: the grass is patchy and turns muddy around the water fountain after rain, so expect dust in summer and slop for a day or two after a wet front. Weekday mornings and Saturdays are the quieter windows, while weekday afternoons and Sunday evenings bring more dogs through. Shade is limited, so bring your own water in the heat.

The park sits on Jabez Way, Blakeview SA 5114. Parking is street-side along Jabez Way and can be tight at busy times, so do not count on a dedicated car park. Adelaide Metro buses run along nearby Main Terrace, a short walk from the gates, and the park is open around the clock.
