Glandore Estate at 1595 Broke Road is openly dog-crazy, to the point of running its own #winedog merchandise line. Resident dogs Sunny, Nutmeg and Oreo roam the grounds, and the covered deck with Brokenback Range views is built for tasting with your own dog at your feet.

Where the dog goes. Dogs are welcome on the spacious lawns and on the covered cellar door deck, where a well-behaved, sociable dog on a lead can sit right where the tasting happens rather than outside it. Keep yours leashed at all times and bring waste bags, as the team asks owners to keep the lawns tidy. Water bowls are usually provided.

What is there. Classic Hunter Semillon and Shiraz alongside interesting alternative varieties like Tempranillo and Sangiovese. The seated wine-and-chocolate pairing is a popular sit-down option, and booking ahead secures a table for you and the dog.

When to go. The lawns are exposed midday in summer, so aim for the shaded deck or a morning slot. Weekdays are calmer for a dog that would rather not navigate a busy weekend crowd.
