Glandore Estate at 1595 Broke Road is openly dog-crazy, to the point of running its own #winedog merchandise. Resident dogs roam the grounds and greet arrivals, and the covered cellar door deck with its Brokenback Range views is built for tasting with your own dog settled at your feet. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the lawns and at seated tastings, indoors and out.

The dog setup

A sociable dog on a lead can sit right where the tasting happens rather than being parked outside it. Water bowls are usually provided, and the team asks owners to bring waste bags and keep the lawns tidy. With three resident dogs around, the arrival is a proper welcome party: loose lead, slow approach, and let the locals set the pace. Book ahead for the seated tastings so you are guaranteed a deck spot with room for a dog.

Max: Book the covered deck, not just the tasting. In summer the lawns are exposed midday and the shade is worth locking in for the dog's sake as much as yours.

The vibe

The list runs classic Hunter semillon and shiraz alongside alternative varieties like tempranillo and sangiovese, all boutique and single-vineyard. The signature experience is the seated wine and chocolate pairing, around six wines matched with handcrafted local chocolates, and visitors mention the energetic hosting and generous cheese boards as much as the wines. Doors open 10am to 5pm daily.

Weekdays are calmer for a dog that would rather not navigate a busy weekend crowd, and morning slots beat the exposed midday lawn in summer.
