Lake Breeze Wines

Lake Breeze Wines is a family-owned cellar door on Step Road in Langhorne Creek, an hour or so from Adelaide, best known for award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon and a relaxed vineyard setting where dogs are welcome to join you outdoors.

Dog access. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor and alfresco dining areas and on the grassy lawn overlooking the vines. They are not permitted inside the tasting room or restaurant. Keep dogs on a lead at all times, both for the vineyard's livestock and for other guests enjoying the verandah.

Water and treats. Water bowls are sometimes out in the outdoor areas, but bring your own to be sure, especially on warm days when the vineyard offers little shade.

Known for. Lake Breeze has a strong reputation for its reds, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, and for verandah dining looking out over the vines. It is also a popular wedding venue, so it pays to check ahead if you are planning a visit around a weekend.

Getting there. The cellar door is at 319 Step Road, Langhorne Creek, with ample free on-site parking. It is open daily for tastings.

Nearby with the dogs. Lake Breeze's own accommodation is listed as pet-free, so plan to stay elsewhere. Milang, on the shores of Lake Alexandrina, is a few minutes away and has a bakery and open space to walk dogs. Strathalbyn, a historic town with quiet walks along the Angas River, is also close by, and other Langhorne Creek cellar doors nearby are worth checking individually for their own dog policies.

When to go. Weekday tastings are quieter and give dogs more room on the lawn; weekends can book out for weddings and functions, so call ahead if you want the verandah table.
