Ferguson Falls Wines Cafe

Ferguson Falls Wines Cafe is a family run winery at 172 Pile Road in the Ferguson Valley, about twenty minutes east of Bunbury, and one of the older vineyards in the valley. Wood fired pizzas come out of the oven from Friday through Sunday, and dogs are welcome on the outdoor lawn and garden tables that look over the vines.

The dog setup

Dogs on leads join you in the garden and lawn seating, a mix of shady and sunny tables over looking the vineyard. The main dining room is people only. Staff are relaxed about well behaved dogs and water bowls are usually easy to come by, but carrying your own travel bowl removes the guesswork. It is a working cellar door in open country, so a short lead and decent manners are the price of the lawn table.

The vibe

Casual and busy on weekends, with a no booking approach that suits a rolling lunch crowd. The pizzas are the draw, with the wood fired bases doing the talking, and cellar door tastings run alongside. Lawn tables fill first on Saturday and Sunday, so arriving on the early side of the sitting is the difference between the grass and the deck. Days are Friday 11am to 3pm and weekends 10:30am to 4pm.

Getting there and parking

Free on site parking sits right at the cafe, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible. The drive out through the valley is half the point, with jarrah forest and rolling farmland the whole way in from Bunbury or Dardanup.

While you're out there

Make it a valley crawl: Saint Aidan Wines welcomes dogs on its lawn and courtyard further along Ferguson Road, and the on lead Crooked Brook Forrest walk is a leg stretcher between stops.
