Edwards Wines

Edwards Wines is a relaxed, spacious cellar door on Ellen Brook Road, Cowaramup, listed among the region's dog-friendly wineries and best known for the vintage yellow Tiger Moth aircraft parked inside. It is an easy, well-set-up stop with plenty of outdoor room for a leashed dog and a view over the vines.

The dog setup. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome at the outdoor seating areas overlooking the vineyard. The indoor tasting room houses the aircraft and gets busy, so check with staff before bringing your dog inside rather than assuming. This is a working vineyard, so keep the lead on throughout.

Good to know. The signature is the 1943 Tiger Moth, flown out from London by the founder, alongside cool-climate, ocean-matured wines like cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and chardonnay. Gourmet platters of local WA produce are best enjoyed out on the deck, which is also where your dog will be most comfortable.

Getting there. It is on Ellen Brook Road, centrally placed between Cowaramup, Margaret River and Gracetown, with on-site parking directly outside the cellar door.

Nearby with the dogs. Cowaramup town centre is about five minutes away for a walk among the cow statues and a cafe stop, and other dog-friendly cellar doors including Passel Estate sit close by along Ellen Brook Road. The Gracetown beaches are a short drive, but check council signage for designated dog zones before letting off the lead.

Pick a fine day and aim for the deck, which is the most dog-comfortable spot. Confirm current hours before a special trip, and bring your own water bowl to be safe.
