Grace Farm

Grace Farm sits on Cowaramup Bay Road in the Wilyabrup sub-region, a family-owned boutique vineyard a few minutes inland from the Gracetown coast. Tastings happen on a deck looking out over the vines and orchard, and that outdoor space is where dogs are welcome. If you are touring the Margaret River wine region with a dog in the car, this is a cellar door built for a slow stop rather than a busy production.

Dogs and the deck

The policy is straightforward. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor tasting areas only, so the indoor room is off limits. Large dogs need to stay on a lead, and whatever joins you on the deck should stay supervised. Staff do not supply water bowls or treats, so pack your own, and note there is no fenced run on site, so settled dogs do best here. Call ahead if you are bringing multiple dogs or a very large breed so the team can set you up comfortably outside.

The vibe

Grace Farm is small and family run, pouring premium chardonnay and semillon from the estate vineyard alongside biodiversity focused land management. Hosts walk you through the wine making process without the queue and noise of the bigger cellar doors, and the setting in the Cowaramup Brook valley keeps things calm. The cellar door opens Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 5pm and closes Monday and Tuesday, so plan around that if your trip falls early in the week.

Getting there and parking

Turn off Caves Road onto Cowaramup Bay Road and follow it towards Gracetown. The vineyard is at 741 Cowaramup Bay Road, an easy drive from either Cowaramup or the Margaret River townsite. There is parking on site, so bring the dog straight from the car out to the deck rather than leaving it waiting.

Close by with the dogs

A cluster of dog-friendly cellar doors sits within a short drive. Passel Estate at Cowaramup pairs single vineyard wines with a strong conservation focus, and Cape Grace Wines pours intimate tastings in a bush setting about ten minutes away. If the dog needs to burn energy instead, the Wadandi Track near Cowaramup is a long flat gravel path, and Brookfield Dog Park in Margaret River offers fenced off-leash running.

Max: Two relaxed tastings with a settled dog is a good day. Three cellar doors with a restless one is a long afternoon.
