Yeronga Memorial Park

Yeronga Memorial Park, in Yeronga next door to Tennyson, offers a shaded on-lead loop under old fig avenues and a fenced off-leash dog park in the same grounds.

Leads and the off-lead area

Brisbane City Council requires dogs on lead across the wider park. Inside the fenced dog park on Park Road they can run free, with separate areas for large and small dogs.

The walk

The loop follows paved concrete and asphalt paths with grassy stretches, passing historic fig avenues, war memorial structures and open playing fields. Mature trees and covered pavilions shade much of the way.

Bubblers with low dog bowl attachments are dotted through the park, and bins line the main paths. Bins can fill up at busy times, so carry spare bags.

Getting there

Free parking is on site off Ipswich Road and near the Yeronga Pool precinct.

Ideal for dogs that like a proper walk followed by a play. The shade keeps it workable in summer, though mornings are cooler.
