Hyde Road Park Fenced Dog Park

Hyde Road Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, 24-hour off-leash area on Hyde Road in Yeronga, part of the wider Yeronga Memorial Park precinct, with grassy open space, mature shade trees and agility equipment split across two separate sections.

The rules. Dogs can run off leash only once inside the fenced perimeter; keep them leashed until you're through the double gates. Pick up after your dog straight away, bins are on site but can run low on busy days, and owners are expected to keep voice control over their dogs at all times. Remove a dog promptly if it's showing aggression toward others.

What's there. The park has separate fenced sections for large dogs and for small or timid dogs, tunnels and hoops for active dogs to play on, benches for owners, and water bowls on site, though bringing your own is a safer bet on a hot day. A small carpark sits right off Hyde Road, with further street parking nearby.

Getting there. Easiest by car via Fairfield Road or Ipswich Road, with a dedicated carpark next to the park entrance. Yeronga train station is a 10 to 15 minute walk, and several bus stops run along Fairfield Road.

Nearby with the dogs. M.Y. Roasting Cafe is just across the road on Hyde Road, with a shaded outdoor area and its own small fenced patch for dogs.

Weekday mornings are quietest for a nervous dog; Sunday afternoons and weekday evenings around 4 to 6pm draw the biggest crowds.
