Hyde Road Park Fenced Dog Park

Hyde Road Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, 24-hour off-leash area on Hyde Road in Yeronga, part of the wider Yeronga Memorial Park precinct, with grassy open space, mature shade trees and agility equipment split across two separate sections.

The dog setup

The park has separate fenced sections for large dogs and for small or timid dogs, plus tunnels and hoops for active dogs. Dogs can run off leash only once inside the fenced perimeter; keep them leashed until you are through the double gates, then maintain voice control at all times.

Pick up after your dog straight away, bins are on site but can run low on busy days, and remove a dog promptly if it shows aggression toward others. Benches and shelters cover the owners, and water bowls are on site, though bringing your own is a safer bet on a hot day.

Worth knowing

Weekday mornings are quietest for a nervous dog; Sunday afternoons and weekday evenings around 4 to 6pm draw the biggest crowds. The park is a genuine local favourite, well kept and regularly praised for cleanliness, and the coffee across the road is a large part of why.

Max: the ground turns to mud fast after rain, so pack a towel for the car if there has been recent wet weather.

Getting there and parking

Easiest by car via Fairfield Road or Ipswich Road, with a small carpark right off Hyde Road and further street parking nearby. Yeronga train station is a 10 to 15 minute walk, and several bus stops run along Fairfield Road.

Close by with the dogs

M.Y. Roasting Cafe sits just across the road with a shaded outdoor area where dogs are welcome, and Yeronga Memorial Park Fenced Dog Park offers a second fenced option in the same precinct. Fairfield Park Fenced Dog Park is a few minutes north with its own small and large dog runs.
