Yarrunga Reserve Trail

Yarrunga Reserve mixes bushland, wetland and a pond system with a skate park and courts, all off Barwon Court in Croydon Hills. Dogs walk the tracks on a lead.

Lead rules

Maroondah City Council requires dogs to be on a lead at all times in the reserve.

The walk

Sealed shared paths and gravel bush tracks wind past wetland plants, fitness stations and native wildlife. Dense canopy shades good stretches of the tracks.

A public water fountain is on site, along with seats and picnic tables. The reserve is also part of the 3.9 km Candlebark Walking Route, which links Yarrunga, Narr-Maen and Candlebark Walk reserves.

Getting started

Park on site off Barwon Court. The Croydon Hills Historic Walk also sets off from here.

Pair it with

Narr-Maen Reserve Dog Off Leash Area has off-lead sections, though dogs stay on lead on its shared paths. Candlebark Walk Reserve adds a lake and more bush tracks.

The shaded bush tracks make it a solid summer walk, and the full Candlebark route gives energetic dogs a longer outing.
