Kimberley Drive Reserve Off Leash Dog Park

Kimberley Drive Reserve is a fenced, 24/7 off-leash park tucked behind the first football oval at 33 Kimberley Drive, Chirnside Park. It is roughly 5000 square metres, partly shaded by established trees, and fitted with agility gear, which makes it a step up from a plain paddock for dogs that like a job to do.

The rules. Off-leash applies inside the fenced area only; the wider Kimberley Reserve around it requires a lead. The fence line has no secured double-gate entry, so treat it as a single barrier rather than an airlock, and keep an eye on dogs with a strong bolt instinct near the opening. Council rules for exercising dogs off-leash across Yarra Ranges still apply: effective voice control at all times and immediate waste pick-up, with bins on site.

What's there. Agility-style obstacles (tunnels, weaves, logs), a handful of established trees for shade, and a dog drinking tap. Parking is on-site and easy, right next to the reserve.

Getting there. Off Kimberley Drive, a short run from Maroondah Highway, and about a five-minute drive from Lilydale Station if you are relying on the train and a lift or taxi from there.

When to go. Weekend mornings and weekday early evenings draw the biggest crowd of regulars and their dogs; mid-week mornings are quieter and better suited to a nervy or reactive dog. Bring extra water even with the tap running, since shade is only partial on hot days.
