Woolcock Park

Woolcock Park on Waterworks Road is the starting point for a leafy creekside walk along Ithaca Creek in Red Hill. Dogs are welcome on lead.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council's standard rule applies. Woolcock Park and the shared path are on-lead areas, so the lead stays on the whole way.

The walk

Smooth concrete paths and a pebbled sensory path run through lush, shaded creekside parkland. Water dragons are a regular sight.

The route links into the Ithaca Creek and Enoggera Creek walkways if you want a longer outing. It is a shared path, so expect cyclists and joggers.

Water and shade

The park has bubblers and bins, and a mature tree canopy shades much of the route. Parking is on the street around Waterworks Road and the nearby residential streets.

Max: Water dragons sit right on the path edge here. A short lead stops a curious dog from lunging.

Make a day of it

Neal Macrossan Playground Park Fenced Dog Park in Paddington is the nearby off-lead option, and The Normanby Hotel is close for a meal.

When to go

The canopy makes this a good hot-weather walk, and the smooth paths suit older dogs.
