Wantirna Recreation Reserve

At the corner of Burwood Highway and Mountain Highway in Wantirna, this Knox City Council reserve pairs paved paths with a fully fenced dog park. It's a good pick when you want a lead walk and an off-lead run in one stop.

Lead rules

On the shared paths and across the wider reserve, dogs stay on lead. The exception is the fenced off-leash dog park, which has separate enclosures for large dogs and for small or shy ones.

Around the reserve

The paths are concrete and asphalt, so the going stays smooth in any weather. The reserve has been redeveloped, and a lap takes in an upgraded playground, native plantings and a dry creek bed with nature play.

Sports facilities, including a synthetic hockey field, share the space.

Max: Kids use the playground and nature play area, so keep the lead short as you pass them.
