Wakerley Park

Wakerley Park at 74 Dianthus Street, sometimes called Wakerley District Park, is a neighbourhood green space with paved paths, a playground and fitness gear. Dogs are welcome on lead.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council's standard park rule applies, so dogs stay on a leash. This park is not a designated off-leash area, and the fenced dog parks in the suburb are separate places.

The walk

Paved concrete paths run past open green activity spaces, the playground and outdoor fitness equipment. Parts of the park hold local bird habitat, which gives curious dogs plenty to sniff.

Water on the paths is not well documented, so bring water for the dog.

Make a day of it

For an off-lead run, Sheriff Park Fenced Dog Park and Moss Road Park Fenced Dog Park are both in Wakerley.

Who it suits

The even, paved paths make this an easy short walk for older dogs. It suits a quick, low-key lap rather than a long outing, with a fenced run nearby when your dog needs more.
