Silverwater Park

Where the Duck River meets the Parramatta River, Silverwater Park at 2 Clyde Street offers a quiet riverside loop. Mangroves and water views set it apart from the busy parks nearby.

Lead rules

Keep dogs on lead throughout. The park is City of Parramatta parkland, and we could not confirm a signed off-lead area inside it.

The walk

Asphalt shared paths follow the foreshore and join the Duck River Nature Trail. Along the way you see rehabilitated green space and native mangroves on the river's edge.

There are drinking fountains, bins, toilets, picnic tables and barbecues, plus parking on site. Some paths have no shade at all.

Make a day of it

Stop at The Commons Cafe, or add Blaxland Riverside Park for a second walk.

It is quieter than the big regional parks, which helps dogs that find crowds hard. Go early on hot days.
