The basics. Deakin Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash area on Deakin St in Silverwater, split by a canal from the playground and picnic side of the park. It has built a reputation across Western Sydney as an agility hub, with tunnels, ramps and jumps rather than just open grass.
The rules. The dog area is fully fenced, but the main gate is a single, non-latching entry right next to a busy road, so keep a close hand on the lead until it clicks shut behind you. Dogs must be leashed anywhere outside the fenced area, including the playground side and the car park. Owners need to keep dogs in view and pick up waste; the park falls under City of Parramatta Council rules.
What's there. Agility equipment (tunnels, ramps, jumps), water stations, poo bag dispensers, picnic shelters and benches near the dog area, and a free, wheelchair-accessible car park at the entrance. A newer playground sits on the far side of the canal for the rest of the family.
Getting there. Deakin St sits just north of the M4, near the Silverwater Rd junction. There's a dedicated paved car park at the entrance; the nearest bus stops are on Parramatta Road or Silverwater Rd, a short walk away.

Nearby with the dogs. For more fenced options nearby, try Pierre De Coubertin Fenced Dog Park in Newington or Handley Street Fenced Dog Park in Auburn. Cafes along Parramatta Road in Auburn and in Newington Village are a short drive away for a coffee afterwards.
When to go. Early mornings and late afternoons on weekdays draw the biggest crowds, and weekends stay busy most of the day. The park is large enough to spread out even when full, but go carefully through that entrance gate at peak times. Skip a visit just after heavy rain, since low spots can hold water. Good for high-energy dogs that want agility play, not just a lap of grass.
