Scotchman's Creek Trail

Scotchman's Creek Trail threads a green corridor from Jells Park through to East Malvern, crossing Chadstone near Warrigal Road. Dogs are welcome, with one rule worth remembering, a lead within 10 metres of the path.

Leads and the off-lead parks

The City of Monash sets the rules on its side, and the City of Stonnington looks after the section across Warrigal Road. On the shared path and within 10 metres either side, dogs must be on lead.

Several reserves along the creek are designated off-lead areas. Once you are beyond that 10 metre buffer, your dog can run free there as long as it stays under effective control.

The walk

The surface is mostly sealed concrete and asphalt, with some compacted gravel and short boardwalks. Expect leafy reserves, open wetlands and billabongs busy with birds.

Pair it with

Finish with a run at the Jordan Reserve Dog Off Leash Area or the Batesford Reserve Dog Off Leash Area.

When to go

It is an easy, well-kept path that suits older dogs and short outings. Around the wetlands, give the birds some room before you unclip.
