Little Digger Track

Little Digger Track follows Moores Creek from Amarna Parade in East Roseville through sandstone overhangs, fern gullies and a small waterfall on the way to the Two Creeks Track. It's on-leash the whole way, Ku-ring-gai Council bushland, and a genuinely scenic option if you want more than a suburban loop.

The walk. Easy to moderate, with some steep, rustic stairs and stretches of uneven, rocky or muddy ground. There's a known cave along the route and traces of WWI-era history, but the trail is mostly cool, shaded bush.

Leash status. Dogs must stay on lead for the entire track. The trail eventually connects to Garigal National Park, where dogs are not permitted at all, so know where your walk ends if you're linking tracks.

Water and hazards. No water stations or bins on the trail, bring enough for both of you and carry your rubbish and waste bags out. The track turns slippery and can be genuinely dangerous near the waterfall section after rain, so check the forecast first.

Getting there. The trailhead is on Amarna Parade, East Roseville, opposite Roseville Golf Course. Street parking nearby gets tight on weekends, so aim for early morning. Roseville station is the nearest train stop but it's a 20 to 25 minute walk to the start, so this is really a drive-to trail.

Nearby with the dogs. Dukes Green Cafe and Elementary Cafe in East Lindfield and Lindfield both do dog-friendly outdoor seating, and The Runaway Spoon near Lindfield village green is a popular stop with an outdoor area. Pet-friendly accommodation is thin locally; Chatswood is the nearest option with serviced apartments.

Weekday mornings and early weekend starts, before 9am, are the quietest. Skip it altogether after heavy rain. Good for confident, leash-trained dogs who don't mind a few stairs.
